Full Circle, 2005-Present - continued...
Beginning the writing of her book was not only for her own benefit, coming full circle in life, but
also for the benefit of ALL women and teenage girls throughout the world. Jen's is just one more
voice
added to many other voices proclaiming the transforming power of Jesus Christ and His
Word."
What kept ringing
through Jen's mind during those months of writing (and questioning God
about the no-holds-barred approach),
that encouraged her to be
so real and so
terrifyingly
vulnerable was this scripture, "For such a time as this," from Esther 4:14 (NIV).
"I heard that
scripture in my head over and over, day after day while writing,
whenever
the doubts and questions would come about revealing my life history
to the world in such a stark, vulnerable, straight-forward manner, and not knowing
what the aftermath of such a bold move would be on many different levels. This
scripture from the book of Esther - encouraging her own boldness - pushed me to
more fully
let go and let God's
power reign in the aftermath. It was an enormous
leap of faith, not having a clue what God's next step
would be after
I wrote the book.
Faith and trust in God took on an even deeper meaning."
While writing and editing the final draft of her book, Jen shared her story weekly,
for
nearly a
year,
in
a two-hour live presentation to small groups of women and female teens.
This simple
act of
faith and
obedience to
God's leading proved to be a powerfully impacting
movement of His
Spirit
that
prompted over 100 women to be among the first of countless others to share -
for the
first time
in
their
lives - their own secret, silent, inner screaming over
their sufferings and
debilitations.... whether those came by way of sins committed
against them, or by their own
sin choices, or
both.
"Sharing so openly with women, I was not - at that time - fully prepared for the
response. Women courageously
shared how
ravenous their hunger was for
practical,
Biblical tools and
truths that
would free
them and give
them contentment
from their core out, content 'in
whatsoever state I am,
(Philippians 4:11 NIV).'
Just as I had
been starving emotionally
and spiritually for
so long, I hear from
countless
women how starving they are
for real-life practical tools and
understanding of God's Word
that will
FREE
them, and empower
them to move
from simply surviving day-to-day life with all its
trouble and
heartache,
to thriving -
purposed
toward becoming ALL God created
each to be."
It was the
power of God, revealing women's deeper and hidden huger and thirsts
through the live presentations, that
birthed The Sara Ministry '"for such a time as this."
"I'm
compelled from deep within, as though created for this
purpose, to love and
care for ALL
women
and teenage girls who cross my path - no matter their age or
stage of life, no matter their
circumstances,
history or
present life, no matter how
good or bad, bound or free, advanced in
spiritual age or just
beginning a
walk with
Christ. I'm more than certain that
God clearly has an
Isaiah 61 mandate on my life,
just as He has a mandate, a particular calling, on the lives of many today and
throughout history: for Jonah to
go to
Nineveh, Nehemiah to
rebuild the walls of
Jerusalem, Esther to boldly stand before the King to gain freedom for her people,
Joan of Arc to be so bold and courageous to fight like a warrior.... I oftentimes feel
alone, like a modern day Joan of Arc; but nothing, not even feeling alone, is more
important to me than
following God "
Isaiah 61 is God's mandate to all Christ followers, just like the great commission He commands.
How He designs YOUR calling from Him to be carried out will likely look and develop differently
than someone else's. We're the army of God with differing jobs to do, but there's no question,
God DOES have a job for each of us - including YOU!
DO YOU KNOW GOD'S UNIQUE direction
for your life
in ministry? Do you know what it really means to be a child of God, a "Christ follower?"
Do you realize what you mean to God as His child? Do you know who you are in Him, and the
power you have through His Spirit living within you?
In an effort to also reach women who are less accessible - those in prisons, in home-life
crisis
situations,
hospitals, teenage girls' homes (like Teen Challenge)...
God led Jen to pursue
ordination and
licensing under CFMI
as a Chaplain-Minister, primarily dedicated to women.
"As a licensed chaplain-minister under a recognized and respected clergy
organization (largely of police, fire, and other civil service chaplains), God has
removed
the statutory boundaries that would otherwise prevent
me
from
carrying
the Good News of
Jesus
Christ to ALL women, everywhere, in every circumstance.
I'm now able to
stop on the side of the road where an auto accident has just
occured, and
nypass
police and medical barrocades to minister emotionally and spiritually to those injured, stunned, and afriad, along the medical technicians ministering to physical
needs. I'm now
able to visit those in critical care in hospitals,
nursing homes, and those
incarcerated in
prisons... Every step of my ministry
journey has been, and still is, God's doing, His plan, His power, His
prompting
and empowering - not my own."
By God's grace and power in hand with her committed choice toward thriving as a whole,
free,
empowered woman of God, by 2005 Jen was drawing closer to coming full circle
emotionally
and
spiritually, embracing....
"a deeper understanding of the vastness of God, who He is
intimately in our
lives,
His limitless
power, the
empowerment of His Spirit, His immeasurable
grace,
endless
mercy and forgiveness,
His
unfathomable
love and faithfulness, and His
tried and
tested
TRUTHS - for YOU and for me.
"Having tried and tested God again and
again on His
principles
and promises,
I
can echo David's
song of praise from 2 Samuel 22:26 (NIV),
'To the faithful You
show Yourself
faithful...'"
