NEW EVERY MORNING

I sat on my porch early one morning, pondering the goodness of God.

Life is funny, we often say. I find myself asking, What would you say, God? For after all, You
created the earth in six days. All of creation was made by You. Back then, life as You saw it was
good. God, does life gets you down, as it does me?

With all the trials and tribulations I’ve seen, life - at times - is a burden too difficult to bear.
Then, I must remind myself that no matter what ails me, God’s goodness is ever before me.

God, how do you view the human race?  You sent Your only son so we might have eternal life.
(John 3:16 NIV) Yes, Your mercies are new every morning. “Because of the Lord’s great love
we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is
Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV).”

Prayer for you and me:

Your blessings are here for our asking, and yet we fail at times to ask You, God.

Those of us who call on Your name, as Savior and Lord, need You in our lives every day as we
await Your arrival.

I’ve seen You work miracles in my life, and you continue to do so.

Your promises, God, are “Yes” and “Amen.” You are the “I AM.” Nothing goes unnoticed by You,
nor do the events of earth surprise You. Even Satan has no authority like Your authority. Yes,
even he has to ask Your permission. (2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV, Exodus 3:14 NIV, I John 4:4 NIV,
Luke 22:31-32 NIV)

The wonders of the universe belong to You. Only You can claim credit for such a magnificent
creation. Scientists will say what they believe, and believe what they say; however, there is only
One God capable of creation.

For mankind, human life begins in the womb and ends at death, but man’s spirit lives forever –
either in Your presence or cast from You.  Thank you that Your mercies are new for us every
morning.

As Your children, we should anticipate and believe for Your miracles in our daily lives, and run
strong and free like the wind.  We should daily tell others of Your goodness to us, only deserving
only because You first loved us. (I John 4:19 NIV) 

Even when we encounter various trials, Your mercies are new every morning. Amen.
